Stay energized with a tasty breakfast at Mekong Pottery Homestay before meeting up with our English-speaking guide at the house for departure.
Set out on the streets with bicycles to the nearby harbor and hop onboard with the peaceful Co Chien River beckoning your attention for a great voyage ahead.
Soak in the tropical breeze and discover why the Mekong River becomes the 'bloodline' of our beloved delta. The movement and existence of the great river is tied to the destiny of this fertile land.
Munch on some local pastry while soaking in the scenic view of the sun-kissed river and wash down with free-flow drinks in an iced bucket.
NOTE: If you choose to swab the cruise with motorbike, it's gonna be a scenic road trip where the lush rice fields, grassy knolls, and rural countryside beckon your attention from the road sides.
Head forward to Vinh Long's "Red Kingdom", our proudest craft village that's been going strong for over a century. Over here, you will unveil the majestic and retro beauty of the gigantic 'kilns' breathing smoke along the banks of the serene Thay Cai Canal.
Pay a visit to one of the old-established factories and discover the traditional procedure of turning fine clay into eye-catching, creative terracotta masterpieces brought to you by artisanal workers. They have been making over 100 units a day by hand for decades.
Make a farewell to your smiley workers and hop back onboard towards Hoa Tinh, a lesser-known rural town known for its bamboo knitting crafts. The local folks here make a living by creating kitchenware and decorative items using local bamboos. Take a pleasant stroll along the riverside for a glimpse into the day in the life of the local bamboo weavers. From mats and trays to baskets and many more, you name it.
Teaming up with the bamboo weavers is a community to hyacinth weavers. These proud artisans spend days and nights creating woven products out of the dried stems of water hyacinth. This is a green aquatic plant that has a slender rootstock kind of stalked leaves widely found along the Mekong River.
Beat the well-marked paved ways deeper into the core of the rural village and unveil the skillful secrets behind this weaving technique. Or even better, get a hands-on experience on making your own masterpieces under their instruction.
Dubbed as 'rice bowl of Vietnam', the Mekong Delta plays host to a huge footprint of rice fields with 2 to 3 seasons a year. If the harvest season comes, follow our guide into the majestic rice fields. Feel the plants laden with those white plump rice enveloped inside the husks.
